Hallmark Registration in India
In accordance with Indian Standards, hallmark registration certifies the purity of gold and silver articles. This certification process is conducted by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Manufacturers and sellers are required to obtain hallmark certification to ensure the quality of their gold and silver products. An inspection and testing of the articles are conducted by a BIS-approved assaying and hallmarking center, following which a hallmark registration certificate is issued.
